Women's Initiative and it program ALAS awarded Susy Dorn, founder and director of "Let's Play in Spanish", the Women Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Aurora Medina radio host of "Efecto Mariposa" interviews Susy Dorn, the founder and director of the Spanish immersion program "Let's Play in Spanish" who has been awarded the "Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 Award" by the non-profit organization Women's Initiative. Aurora is the producer, director and host of Efecto Mariposa, a Spanish radio show for women that airs on 104.9 FM Monday through Friday's at 3PM in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Telemundo's "Conteo de Noticias y mas" in the San Francisco Bay Area featured Susy Dorn on Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 after the release of her 7th CD "El Baile del Mono" (The Dance of the Monkey).

The Mission: The show's primary purpose is to entertain a family audience, while teaching Spanish. The actors sing, play guitar and interact with puppets through adventures in Spanish with English guide words and subtitles. Each episode introduces a new educational theme and vocabulary.
The Story: The program introduces us to two musical neighbors. Charlie, a 6 year old "all-American boy" learns Spanish by playing with his Latina neighbor, Susy. The episode begins when Charlie knocks on Susy's door looking for adventure. Susy pulls the show's theme out of her big bag and catches Charlie's attention with the help of their mischievous puppet friends. Charlie and Susy end the show by composing and performing on their guitars a song that reinforces the episode's theme.
