Let's Play in Spanish Concerts and Events

During the years, Susy Dorn and Let’s Play in Spanish have performed throughout the Bay Area in different bookstores, schools and libraries. Here are some of the most outstanding concerts where hundreds of children & their parents gathered to sing, dance and laugh in our fun and energetic presentations.

Let's Play in Spanish at Bethany United Methodist Church The Let's Play in Spanish Concert in San Francisco was a great success! Susy Dorn and the Let's Play in Spanish teachers put on the first concert in San Francisco and had a great turn out in the theatre of the Bethany United Methodist Church in the Noe Valley area. Let's Play in Spanish introduced many of the new songs from the fun new Rimas y más Rimas, Ratón Ramón CD and Book by Susy Dorn. (Translation: Rhymes and more Rhymes, Ramón, The Mouse)

Let's Play in Spanish at Santana Row It was a beautiful sunny Saturday when Let’s Play in Spanish entertained and made parents and children jump, play and sing along with their performance. Two presentations took place that day. Parents and little ones that had never seen our program or events were astonished and enjoyed the presentation from beginning to end.

Let's Play in Spanish at Peru Earthquake Fundraiser After the earthquake in Peru, the team knew right away that they needed to do an event to send help immediately. Although all of the families of our Peruvian teachers were fine, they all knew people from those towns that were demolished from the 7.9 earthquake. In only two weeks and with the wonderful help of some special people, we were able to put together an amazing concert that gathered around 400 families.

Let’s Play in Spanish would like to thank everybody that was involved with the event because without all of you, it wouldn’t have gone so well. We would like to thank all the volunteers and our teachers that donated their time. We would especially like to thank Pamela Weiss for all her great help and support marketing the event and getting us all the resources such as volunteers and location that we needed to make it happen.

Let's Play in Spanish at Castro School Careful! The puppet house is blowing over! On this windy but energetic afternoon, we were pleased to be the entertainment for the kids and parents of the Castro School. Though it was very windy, the kids really enjoyed the show. There were many kids at Castro School that had attended our Spanish Immersion Program before so everybody was singing along and dancing to the familiar and playful music of Let’s Play in Spanish.

Let's Play in Spanish at Michell Park Community Center Linden Tree Books, the local bookstore in Los Altos presented Let’s Play in Spanish to perform in the Main Hall at the Mitchell Park Community Center. Even though it was a hot day for May, we all had a blast! Not only did we have a wonderful show but we had a raffle and gave out prizes.

Let's Play in Spanish at Escondido School We took center stage at Escondido School! Children enjoyed the show while we brought several of Susy’s songs to life. With love and humor, we preformed music and mini puppet shows for the families of the Escondido School. The children were, as always, learning but in a fun way.

Let's Play in Spanish at Mountainview Library Let’s Play in Spanish was invited to entertain children at the Mountain View Public Library on Saturday morning. That morning, the children and their parents were lined up at the door and the library was not a quiet spot but quite a party. With over 250 children in the library it was tight but everybody had a blast! Unfortunately, around 50 families were not able to get in but were singing and dancing outside the facility. We know now that we need more space to have an event!

Let's Play in Spanish at Escondido School We launched Susy Dorn’s new books, Cantemos en Español and Sal y Pimienta at Barnes and Noble on Steven’s Creek Boulevard. We really shook the book store that day with all the families having a good time singing along to Susy’s songs, dancing and just celebrating the achievements of the children learning with the Let’s Play in Spanish program. Staged in the children’s section of Barnes and Noble, we had a pretty big area to work with the 350 families that arrived. Bookstore’s staff was astonished while they moved bookshelves and children sat on their father's shoulders and still some claimed afterwards that they wished they arrived earlier to have a better spot.

Let's Play in Spanish at San Francisco Library Susy Dorn was invited to entertain in one of the public libraries in San Francisco. It was a nice setting with children that had never seen the program before. Everyone had a great time and nobody left the library without a smile… and a CD!
